Oh how I love hand-lettered type! Haven’t quite gotten the hang of lettering myself but I don’t think that my first attempts were terrible.
We were required to create a one-word tag for our typography class and then put it to work in a physical way.
I fell in love with the word ‘Quixotic’ because I just loved drawing out the ‘q’, the ‘x’ and the ‘t’. America Heritage Dictionary provides this definition for the word:
adj. 1. Caught up in the pursuit of unreachable goals; idealistic without regard to practicality. 2. Capricious; impulsive
Although the origin of this word pertained to Don Quixote, I pictured someone else entirely while brainstorming. Would you give me an ‘A’ on this project?
For extra credit we were asked to create a process book, so if you would like to read more about this project, click here: Hand-Lettered Type Process Book
